Job Description Role Summary: The Senior Manager – HR Operations is the strategic owner of HR operational excellence for the India region, responsible for delivering scalable, compliant, and technology-enabled HR services across the employee lifecycle. This role combines deep HR operations expertise with a strong digital mindset, leveraging modern HR technologies, automation, and AI-enabled tools to streamline processes, enhance employee experience, and strengthen data-driven decision making. As a key leader within the India HR function, this individual will drive operational rigor, HR systems effectiveness, and continuous process improvement while building a high-performing team and partnering with global HR, IT, Finance, and business leaders. The role requires a hands-on operator, systems thinker, and credible leader who can represent HR Operations confidently with senior leadership while ensuring flawless execution of day-to-day operations. About the role: 1. End-to-End HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management • Own and ensure seamless delivery of the full employee lifecycle, including: • Hire-to-retire HR processes • Onboarding and new hire experience • Employee movements (transfers, promotions, role changes) • Compensation changes and benefits administration • Leave and attendance management • Exit management and offboarding Ensure all processes operate with consistency, accuracy, and compliance, balancing global standards with India-specific requirements. 2. HR Operations Process Excellence (Non-Negotiable) • Drive standardization and operational maturity across HR processes by: • Designing and implementing scalable, well-documented HR workflows • Identifying inefficiencies and eliminating manual or fragmented processes • Establishing clear service standards and operational SLAs • Strengthening governance, controls, and audit readiness Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational discipline across the HR function. 3. Digital Transformation, Automation & AI Enablement in HR Lead the adoption of modern HR technologies and AI-enabled workflows to improve efficiency and insights. • Identify opportunities to introduce automation and AI tools into HR processes • Leverage AI-driven solutions to improve reporting, analytics, and employee services • Simplify HR workflows through digital enablement • Drive adoption of new technologies within the HR Operations team • Build a culture of data-informed and technology-enabled HR decision making 4. HR Data Governance, Analytics & Insights Serve as the custodian of HR data integrity and governance for the region. • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness of HR data • Develop dashboards and automated reports covering: • Workforce and headcount metrics • Attrition and retention trends • Hiring and onboarding analytics • HR operational service metrics • Providing actionable insights to HR and business leadership • Partnering with IT and HRIS teams to strengthen data architecture and reporting capabilities 5. HRIS Strategy & System Stewardship Act as the functional owner for HRIS platforms in the region. • Implement, Manage and optimize enterprise HRIS platform. Prior experience with applications such as Workday, Darwinbox, or SAP SuccessFactors is an added advantage. • Driving system adoption and process alignment • Partnering with global HRIS and IT teams on system enhancements, releases, and integrations • Ensuring the HRIS remains the single source of truth for HR data 6. Compliance & Risk Management (India Focus) Ensure full compliance with India labour laws and statutory requirements, including: • Provident Fund (PF) • Employee State Insurance (ESIC) • Gratuity • Bonus • Professional Tax • Shops & Establishments regulations Additionally: • Oversee vendor compliance and statutory submissions • Ensure audit readiness for HR operations • Identify potential compliance risks and implement preventive controls 7. Team Leadership & Capability Building Lead and develop a high-performing HR Operations team. • Creating a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence • Mentoring team members and building functional depth • Encouraging proactive problem solving and continuous improvement • Building strong cross-training and succession capability The HR Operations lead should be able to inspire a team environment where individuals willingly go beyond defined roles to deliver exceptional outcomes. 8. Employee Experience & HR Service Delivery Champion a people-first service philosophy while maintaining strong operational discipline. • Deliver simple, transparent, and responsive HR services • Improve employee experience across lifecycle touchpoints • Balance service orientation with process rigor and governance 9. External Benchmarking & Industry Insights Stay connected with the external HR ecosystem to benchmark: • HR operations best practices • HR technology advancements • Compliance and governance developments Bring relevant insights into the organization to continuously elevate the maturity of the HR Operations function. About you: Core competency • 10+ years of progressive HR Operations experience in a global organization with significant India region expertise. • Proven mastery in HR process design, from planning and stabilization to unification and optimization. • Demonstrated skill in HR analytics and dashboard automation. • Hands-on Workday HRIS proficiency. • Strong subject-matter expertise in India statutory compliance. • Postgraduate degree in HR (MBA, MSW, or equivalent) is preferred.
