Field Accountant

Position: Field Accountant - Bikaner, Rajasthan Organization: The Hunger Project Location: Bikaner Reporting To: State Accountant, Jaipur Job Summary The Field Accountant will be responsible for managing financial operations at the field level, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance with organizational policies, and timely financial reporting. The role involves close coordination with program teams to support effective implementation of field activities. Key Responsibilities • Maintain day-to-day financial records, including cash book, bank book, and vouchers • Process payments, verify bills/invoices, and ensure proper documentation • Manage petty cash and conduct regular cash verification • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for submission to the state/central office • Assist in budget tracking and ensure expenditures are within approved budgets • Support audits by maintaining accurate records and providing required documentation • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and donor guidelines • Coordinate with field teams for financial planning and activity-wise expenditure tracking • Handle bank transactions, reconciliations, and statutory compliance requirements Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com preferred) • 4-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in the development/NGO sector • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally) • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial procedures • Experience in handling field-level finances and documentation Other Requirements • Women Candidates are encouraged to apply • Willingness to travel within project areas • Familiarity with local language (Hindi) is essential Candidates must comply with THP India's Child Protection Policy and Policy on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace Application Process Interested candidates apply by 15 April 2026 by sending their CV and Cover Letter with the subject line “Field Accountant – Bikaner” to:hungerproject.rajasthan@gmail.com
